Blue Water Baltimore: Rain Garden Installation with St Francis Neighborhood Center

We are very excited to be partnering with St Francis Neighborhood Center in Reservoir Hill on the installation of their new rain garden! A rain garden is designed to capture stormwater from impervious surfaces, such as rooftops and sidewalks, and filter out pollution so that it doesn’t end up in our storm drains and streams. We will be doing the bulk of the excavation on this date, so come prepared to dig–all you need to bring is a strong back and a good attitude! BWB will provide all gloves and tools, but be sure to wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty.

We will be working in two shifts: 10am to 12:30pm and 12:30pm to 3pm. Please RSVP for one or both shifts to Abby Becker at abecker@stfranciscenter.org or 410-669-2612. The rain date is the following Saturday, March 16th.

March 9th will be the first work day of several; stay tuned for additional days for planting and maintaining the rain garden.
